Immunofluorescent Assay Accessories
The following items were developed by Waterborne™, Inc. to optimize the results of assays performed with Waterborne products. These items may be included in comprehensive kits or purchased separately.

Dilution/Blocking Buffer

The B100 buffer is used to dilute Waterborne 20X concentrated reagents to a stable 1X working dilution for prolonged storage. It can also be used to pre-block filters or membranes before staining for background reduction.

SuperStick™ Slides

These custom manufactured slides are have a special in-house chemically treated surface to maximize the adhesion of cysts, oocysts, spores, and other types of cells.  Each slide has a green, Teflon-coated background, surrounding the wells, which is hydrophobic to ensure that the sample stays within the reaction well before drying.   Each slide also has a super-frosted area at one end for writing with a pencil, pen or marker.

BlockOut™ Counterstain

Counterstain provides a reddish background to give contrast to the specific green fluorescein reaction and reduce background fluorescence. (BlockOut™ Counterstain will fluoresce red when viewed under a fluorescein filter set.)  Excellent for use with complex matrices in environmental samples and fecal smears to reduce non-specific fluorescence.

DAPI

DAPI is used to stain DNA of organisms. When viewed under UV light, DAPI fluoresces bright blue. D101 is packaged in a microtube containing 400 uL of 5000x concentrated (2 mg/mL) 4,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI) in absolute methanol.

No-Fade™ Mounting Medium

Ideal for repeated viewing of slides during short-term storage.

This medium is also fade-retardant and contains polyvinyl alcohol and DABCO.   When allowed to dry overnight, Elvanol dries to a gelatinous, semi-solid film, allowing long-term storage and repeated viewing of immunofluorescent cells or tissue without messy leakage or drying out.

SureRinse™ Wash Buffers

This buffer was developed to rinse access reagent from well slides after incubation with a sample.   It is packaged as a 20X concentrated solution, 50 mL volume, which yields 1 L of solution.
